Badass Jason Momoa's New Movie "Sweet Girl".

You’ll understand why Jason Momoa first starred in and then later went on to executive produce the action-revenge thriller “Sweet Girl” right away. It’s about a guy who is seeking vengeance for his wife’s death from illness by murdering a heartless pharmaceutical corporation that showed little concern for her wellbeing while being followed by his devastated daughter.

This project is mostly flawed because the screenwriters, Brian Edward Mendoza, and first-time feature director Philip Eisner and Gregg Hurwitz don’t see that the movie is too lengthy and unnecessarily complicated, and the result is often simply exhausting.

A bigger problem is that the film gradually turns into less emotional, losing focus as it follows random side quests and jumping back and forth in time. Watching performers with a ton of passion like Momoa, Garcia-Rulfo, and Merced provide brilliant performances just to have them lose it all with horrible story and character decisions is really saddening. Merced in particular has done incredible effort in trying to build a ridiculous superstructure.

However, it did succeed in doing what it needed to do by providing exciting fight scenes and should be given an overall rating of two and a half beers. Drinking five beers will certainly help, but only to finish the movie.
