Kanye West’s bars on Donda aren’t even the most memorable ones.
Kanye West Donda – The rapper-producer has revealed several albums (one of which features Chance the Rapper) that he has subsequently cancelled or delayed.
Despite its demise in early July, the album was revived earlier this month in anticipation of an album listening event on July 22, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, followed by a release later that night.
West’s next album was unveiled as “God’s Country” last summer, and a single titled “Wash Us in the Blood” featuring Travis Scott has already been published. West then subsequently titled the song “DONDA” (an acronym for “Design + Dream + Achieve”) in honor of his late mother, who passed away in 2007.
West teased fans on Twitter with some of the songs on his album through a series of snippets.
His latest album, which is named Donda, was released on Friday (August 27). The album follows Jesus Is King, which was released last year.
West put forth the most clear-cut record since Yeezus. There were more than 20 tracks with various audio elements, video content, and extras to keep attendees occupied.
In the more uptempo soul song Believe What I Say, Lauryn Hill’s soothing coos are heard for a more uptempo soul ballad, serving as a reminder to West that he should stay grounded despite his rising popularity.
Meanwhile, the Weeknd, which includes Hurricane and Lil Baby’s hook, evokes a feeling of empowerment.
