The Right Look: Smart Fit and Stylish
I know that it is not very common to comment on looks with a predominance of dark colors at the gates of summer, but this one deserves a special highlight because of the precise fit of its few pieces. Come on?
Why does it work?
It seems that we have reached an impasse, as some men who appreciate the right clothes are leaning towards the fair to the point of “inelegant” sound, while stores are investing more in comfort trim, perhaps because it adapts to the variety of physical types found in Brazil.
The idea was never that, the intention of the current fashion is that the man wears an outfit that reveals the shape of his body with class, without scoring and without leftovers, is it that difficult?
I even respect those who like the clothes a little looser and I admit that some guys manage to get the style right, but the opposite is hard for me.
The look highlighted at the top shows how well-cut clothing, or that received a tailor’s treatment to look perfect on your body, can make you more elegant and with a more contemporary look.
Interesting was the choice of polo, lengthening the silhouette thanks to the dark background and the vertical stripes like pinstripe, but we have to agree that the cut of the piece is perfect. Still, I have to draw attention to two more positive elements: the fluidity and structure of the fabric, which works very well on the shoulders and belly – giving volume on top and not repeating it below – and the finishing of the sleeves that looks like a fold and , even with some leftovers, leaves the polo well in thin or thick arms. Do not think twice if you find a similar pole!
The tailoring pants do not bring anything new, but they are well suited for the combo, with a dry cut, good structure and slightly shortened bars so as not to become tangled at the beginning of the shoes. The shirt inside also serves to show the waist without a belt that makes the look even cleaner.
The sneakers go a little beyond the ultra minimalist and bring some details that resemble the sports of the 80s, but remain discreet and modern within this example that we are commenting on.
Simple, modern and with a good fit, this combination is a good example of the direction that men’s fashion has taken in recent years.
Try it…
wear a light, light-colored twill jacket on days when the temperature drops a little. I would use a beige, cream or off white. The herington, bomber or coach model are good choices that go well with this type of look.
It wouldn’t be the same if…
if we changed this polo for a plain one, the vertical lines contribute a lot to the elegance of the costume. I’m not even going to talk about the trim again, I don’t think we need to hit that key again.
Summing up:
- Trim is still one of the most important elements of men’s clothing and the dry cut remains unbeatable;
- If the garment is still not perfect, a tailor may be the solution;
- Casual, tailoring and sports can coexist in contemporary men’s fashion;
- Chalk stripes work not only on suits, on poles they can also have a good effect;
- A fabric with good structure and fluidity influences the trim positively, pay attention to that;
- In this combo a light jacket in a light tone would be an even more modern touch.
